Arriving
How do I find the cottage?
Use Google Maps (not Apple Maps or Waze), postcode GL6 7PE. The lane is single-track and signposted 'Trillis'; the cottage sign is lit. By car, never drive past the cottage or turn left out of the drive, because it's a green lane (fine on foot). Avoid the Frampton Mansell railway route. If the Sapperton road is closed, come via Chalford. No street lights, patchy phone signal. Vehicles up to about Transit-van width fit; large SUVs are fine.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Self check-in from 3pm with a keypad on the front door (no key safe). The code is sent automatically at midday on arrival day. Checkout is 10am. Early check-in or late checkout is often possible when there's no tight turnover, confirmed in the week of the stay.
What's the minimum stay?
2 nights, or 3 nights in school holidays. The hot tub is drained and refilled between guests and takes about 7 hours to reheat, so we can't offer one-night stays.
Is parking available?
Yes, we have parking for 2 cars comfortably, 3 at a squeeze, plus a lay-by just up the lane.
How do I get in touch if I have an issue during my stay?
You can reach us on 07700 173400 (call or WhatsApp) at any time during your stay. We're always available to help with any questions or concerns.
Can I arrange taxis or deliveries?
Uber rides don't reach us out here, so it's best to pre-book a taxi both ways (Wonky's Wheels, Clyve Wynn in Stroud or Cirencester Taxi). Stroud station is about 20 minutes by car. Uber Eats does deliver, though some takeaway drivers and supermarket vans find the lane tricky. For shops, the nearest is Ollie's Shop & Post Office in Oakridge Lynch (GL6 7NZ), opposite The Butchers Arms, about 1.5 km on foot. There's also a Londis (Eastcombe Stores & Post Office) in Eastcombe and Tesco Express in Chalford for essentials, plus larger Tesco and Waitrose supermarkets in Stroud, all by car.
The Cottage
How many people does the cottage sleep?
The cottage sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms. The main bedroom has a double bed with a king-size duvet. The second bedroom, with views over the valley, has two single beds (or one single, depending on your booking). Both are made up for bookings of 4 guests.
What's provided?
Linen, bath and tea towels, hand soap, toilet roll, dishwasher tablets, washing pods, tea, sugar, instant and ground coffee (for the Caffettiera), salt, pepper, oil, milk, and a welcome basket often with fresh eggs from our hens. Also logs, kindling and firelighters for the log burner, an iron, a hoover, a charcoal Weber BBQ with utensils, a guidebook, a walks booklet and an OS map.
What should I bring?
Shower gel and shampoo, robes, charcoal for the BBQ, and an EV cable if you'll be charging.
Tell me about the hot tub
It's your own private hot tub, included in your stay, hot on arrival and running all year round. It's a 32-amp, 6-person tub with 1 lounger and 5 seats, so there's room for everyone without sitting on each other's laps. There are 82 massage jets to ease out the walking legs. There's no cut-off time, but please keep music down after 11pm. Hot-tub towels and slippers are provided.
Can I use the hot tub in winter?
Yes! The hot tub runs all year round and is especially magical in winter. There's nothing quite like relaxing in the warm water while watching the stars or even snowflakes falling.
Is there Wi-Fi?
Yes, Starlink broadband, fine for remote work. Smart TV with Netflix.
Can I charge my electric vehicle?
Yes, we have a free untethered Type 2 charger. Bring your own cable.
Is the property suitable for babies and children?
Yes, families are very welcome! We provide a travel cot with a proper mattress and sheet (no bassinet), high chair, and stair gate.
How private is the cottage?
The whole cottage is private. The hosts' house is the only neighbour and doesn't overlook it. One CCTV camera covers the parking area only.
Is smoking allowed?
Smoking is not permitted inside the property. However, you're welcome to smoke in the garden, and ashtrays are provided.
What do I do at checkout?
Linen goes in the laundry bags; black bin for general waste.
Can you help with special occasions?
Yes! We can arrange extras such as balloons and cake, or balloons and champagne. Browse our extras shop to add special touches to your stay.
What's the cancellation policy?
Guests who cancel at least 14 days prior to check-in will receive a full refund. For cancellations made within 14 days of check-in, refunds will only be issued if the dates are rebooked by another guest.

Dogs
Can I bring my dog?
Absolutely! We welcome up to 2 dogs with no breed or age restrictions, provided they are fully house-trained (a flat £15 per stay). Have more furry friends? Let us know and we can discuss. The cottage has an enclosed garden, and large dog crates are available to borrow on request.
What's provided for dogs?
Dogs are welcome on the furniture; throws are provided on the sofas. Dogs are also welcome on the beds if you bring your own bedding. Large crates are available to borrow on request. Dogs can be left alone in the cottage as long as they're crated. The garden is fully enclosed by stock fencing and walls. Please no fireworks (dogs and horses nearby). For dogs who LOVE the Cotswold mud, there's a MudDaddy to rinse off muddy paws before they come inside.
Area
What's nearby?
The cottage backs directly onto Trillis Banks nature reserve, a beautiful hidden grassland valley home to hazel dormice and limestone grassland flowers including greater butterfly-orchid—deer and foxes are regular visitors. Three dog-friendly pubs are within walking distance (The Butchers Arms ~15–20 min, The Crown Inn ~20–25 min, The Daneway Inn ~30 min). Stroud and Cirencester market towns are a short drive away, as is Painswick Rococo Garden (seasonal opening days, so check before you go; well-behaved dogs on short leads welcome). Jolly Nice farm shop is well worth a visit for local produce and treats.
